One of the worst mistakes you can make as a gardener is to think you are in charge.

- Time to bring in
your houseplants before they are hit with a killing frost
- Treat your plants for insects by using a systemic insecticide or spray applications.
|
| |
|
- Finish planting garlic cloves.
- Start a windowsill garden
for fresh herbs all winter long. Try Oregano, Thyme, Parsely and Sage.
- Dig Radishes, Beets and Turnips. Carrots, Turnips and Parsnips can be left in the garden for winter storage. Mulch the plantings after the soil is a little crunchy with frost. Harvest them throughout the winter.

- Take time to enjoy the fall colors in your landscape and in Nature around you.
- Rake leaves and use in
compost pile
- Prune Shrubs and Roses, cutting out any dead and diseased wood.
- Continue planting as long as shrubs and trees are available, and the ground is workable.
- Start putting animal barriers in place. Stock up on repellents.
