Pot with Drainage
Make sure you have a pot with proper drainage. Adequate drainage is crucial to the life of your container. If there are no holes in your pot your plants will stay to wet.

Good Soil
A good mixed soil that is balanced with peat moss and other organic materials is essential for proper root growth. Too heavy a soil leads to root rot, or when left to dry out a solid, compact soil that kills the plant.

Fertilizer
Using Osmocote, a time released fertilizer that is mixed in with the soil, as well as a water soluble fertilizer that is high in phosphorous, will encourage all season blooms.
