After: This was a two-stage project. The first year we installed the hardscape and the second year we went back and the plantings were installed. In this picture you can see the shade plants that were planted underneath an existing tree. The taller plants are in the back to accentuate the height of the wall, which has a raised patio on the other side.
After: The raised bed around the Gazebo is given a formal appeal with several spiral topiaries and annuals cascading over the side.
After: A Harry Lauder’s Walking Stick is used as a specimen plant beside this deck. The fountain set in the garden adds an element of sound as well as functioning as a statuary piece.
After: Boulders are also another great way to add some structure to your garden. Here a boulder with ribbons of pink in it is accented with pink dianthus as well as some grasses and other Prairie plants.
