The Red Carpet event of the season…if you have joined us in years passed you know….if you haven’t…it’s THE place to be for anyone who is anyone in the gardening world! (Hopefully the writers strike will be over by then so we can have the red carpet segment of our evening!)
May 3rd, Saturday-
10am- “Make a pot for Mom” Container Workshop-For all ages! Let us help you make a mixed container for Mom, we will keep it here and care for it until Mother’s Day weekend. Cost based on materials used.
11am-Beautiful Flowering Tree Seminar- Add the beauty of a gorgeous flowering tree to your landscape. Learn how to care, prune, plant and enjoy these outstanding accents.
1pm-Deer Resistant Gardening Seminar-Learn ways to enjoy gardening without losing your investment to the animals.

Chicago Botanic Gardens is our destination this year. Tickets are $50.00 and include….Deluxe Motor Coach ride, A Grand Tram tour of the Gardens in the morning, lunch there at the Botanic Garden and Admissions. Kids Workshops- Make a Fall Placemat & A Fall Sun Catcher. Kids ages 4 to 12 can join us for these projects! It's a great time to decorate for fall. Each session is $3.00 per child with a $9.00 limit per family.

Become inspired by beautiful Christmas displays. Breathe in the scent of fresh evergreen, and enjoy a fresh baked cookie and coffee or cider while taking advantage of some great specials on high quality items to give as gifts or to decorate your home!
December 1st
Santa is coming to Edgewater once again! He will be here to talk to the kids and have pictures taken with them for $5.00. The proceeds from this event go to the Family Resource Center in Portage! No appointment is necessary and kids off all ages are welcome!
All local elementary schools are invited to participate. The children create ornaments for their schools tree with the 2007 theme "Green Christmas". We ask the public to vote for their favorite tree. The winning school then receives a shade tree valued at over $125 that we plant for them in the spring around Earth Day. Please make sure that you come in during December to check out how creative these kids are and to vote!
This is a hands a hands on workshop where our expert will take you step by step on decorating a beautiful fresh evergreen wreath or swag for your home. Want to learn how to make a beautiful bow? Join our class, we will learn that on this day too! We have all the materials you will need plus the staff to guide you.

December 8th
.Our workshops have become a holiday tradition for area families. We try to create projects that are easily done by kids from 5 to 12. Our staff is here to help your child. These are two great craft projects that will become great keepsakes! Fee is $3.00 for each project with a maximum of $9.00 per project per family.

Create a Fresh Evergreen Centerpiece Workshop
Designing a beautiful Christmas centerpiece is easy if you have the guidance and help from our creative floral designers! They will walk you through the design process and help you create a centerpiece you can be proud to show off to your friends and family!

One of the highlights of the holiday season is making a gingerbread house at Edgewater. We will supply all the materials you need to make a delicious and beautiful sweet house!
We leave cookies and milk out for Santa, but don't forget his reindeer! We will make together a glistening, delicious snack that the reindeer will be sure to see from high in the sky and stop at your house!
